We collect the following categories of information:

• The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) you enter to generate a report.
• Transaction and order details, such as your order number, purchase timestamp, and the report purchased.
• Technical usage data, such as browser type, approximate region, and interaction logs used to operate and secure the Service.

If you contact support, we will also receive the information you choose to include in that message, such as your name and email address.

We use the information we collect to:

• Generate and deliver the vehicle history report you request.
• Process your payment and maintain order records.
• Respond to support requests and resolve disputes, including refund reviews.
• Operate, monitor, and secure the Service, and prevent abuse or fraud.

Payment is processed through Stripe. Stripe collects and processes your card details; VerifyVINs does not receive or store your full card number. We retain only the transaction details needed to fulfill your order and maintain records. Processing is subject to Stripe's own terms and privacy practices.

We retain order and transaction records for as long as needed to provide the Service, respond to support and refund requests, and meet record-keeping obligations. The VIN you submit and the generated report are retained with your order record. Technical usage logs are retained for a limited period used for security and service operation.

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to operate the Service, including with our payment processor (Stripe) and the third-party data provider that supplies vehicle history records for reports.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including encryption in transit and access controls. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We do not store your full card details, as payment data is handled by Stripe.

You may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you, subject to applicable law. Because reports are tied to order records, some information must be retained to fulfill transactions and obligations. To make a request, include your order number where possible.

The Service is not directed to children under the age required to lawfully enter into a contract in their jurisdiction, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from such individuals. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the date above. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. If a change is material, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users through the Service.
