Terms of Service

By accessing or using VerifyVINs (the "Service"), including purchasing or viewing a vehicle history report, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of a business, you represent that you have authority to bind that business to these terms.

VerifyVINs provides vehicle history reports compiled from third-party data sources for informational purposes. A report is intended to help you assess a vehicle's recorded history before a purchase, sale, or inspection. A report is not a certification of a vehicle's condition, title status, or safety, and it is not a substitute for an independent mechanical or structural inspection.

You should not rely solely on a report when making a purchasing decision. Vehicle history may be incomplete because not all events are reported to participating data sources.

We do not guarantee that any report is complete, accurate, or current. Data is supplied by third parties whose records may be delayed, incomplete, or unavailable for certain vehicles, jurisdictions, or time periods. Events such as unreported repairs, private damage, or records from before a vehicle entered a participating jurisdiction may not appear in a report.

VerifyVINs disclaims any warranty that the Service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that a report will be available for every VIN submitted. Where a report cannot be generated, see the refund policy on our About page.

Each report is sold as a completed digital product at the price displayed at the time of purchase. Payment is processed through Stripe. Your full card details are handled by Stripe and are not stored by VerifyVINs.

After payment is confirmed, your report is delivered electronically and is available to read or download. Because a report is a digital product that is delivered immediately, reports that are successfully generated and delivered are ordinarily nonrefundable. If a report cannot be generated due to a service issue on our side, you may request a refund within 14 days of purchase. Full details are on the About page.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose, including fraud or misrepresentation in a vehicle transaction.
• Attempt to access, alter, or disrupt the Service, its data sources, or its infrastructure.
• Reverse engineer, scrape, or bulk-retrieve reports or underlying data beyond the reports you have purchased.
• Use a report in a manner that misrepresents its origin, scope, or currency to a third party.

The Service, including its design, text, and presentation, is owned by VerifyVINs and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. The underlying vehicle data in a report is licensed from third-party data sources and remains subject to their terms. You may view and download reports you have purchased for your personal or business use in connection with a vehicle transaction, but you may not resell or redistribute reports as a standalone product.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, VerifyVINs and its data providers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or reliance on, a report or the Service. Our aggregate liability for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid for the report that gave rise to the claim.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain liability limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the date above. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. If a change is material, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users through the Service.
